Our story is a story about the strength of family spirit that abides in all of us as well as the power of the connection between the human desire to alleviate suffering and pain, to enlist scientific curiosity and the great knowledge that exists around us.
Kobi and Nachshol Cohen, two brothers in their thirties – one an international businessman and the other a pharmaceutical chemist in his final year of study, learned that their father had developed an aggressive cancer. The brothers began actively seeking additional ways to cope with their father’s illness along with the traditional treatments he received in the hospital. Their journey brought them to Asia and Japan. There they discovered that some cancer treatment centers were using various types of medicinal mushrooms for healing purposes.
Following several months of treatment with medicinal mushrooms, there was a relief in their father’s suffering, therefore, the brothers decided to bring the gospel of medicinal mushrooms to a greater general public, and to increase awareness of this knowledge to as many people as possible in Israel and all around the world.
They set up research farms for growing mushrooms and began a long process of advanced scientific research together with Professor Solomon Wasser of the university of Haifa – one of the world’s leading experts in mushrooms. For years they studied and examined the world of mushrooms, from selection of varieties, to analysis of the safety of the mushrooms and their contribution to human health.
Today Mycolivia holds registered varieties in its name in the Holland’s World Species Bank. The company controls and supervises the entire production process, from the field to the final product and constantly conducts advanced research and development processes for research, studying and improving the product and service.
The Cohen brothers long journey, taking almost five years, and an investment of millions of shekels, involved tracking down the scientific data, and conducting extensive research and development until a final product was achieved.
Mycolivia prides itself on its spiritual core while at the same time adhering to the highest scientific, professional, responsible and safe practices.
We work in collaboration with the most advanced conventional medical centers and cooperate with doctors, integrative therapists, nutritionists, and others who support various medical conditions.
Mycolivia is a shining example of an Israeli company with the ability to combine spirituality and business, knowledge and responsibility with a deep connection to the community.
For the project and mission called Mycolivia, they joined together: Solomon, Nachum, Yuval, Kobi, Nachshol, Sam, Lee, Dganit, Sharon, and Ilanit

Our production process begins long ago and far away, in the mushroom world. The various types, after being collected, tested and found to be the best, healthiest varieties with the most stable active ingredients, were registered as unique species by Mycolivia in Holland’s World Species Bank.
